      Evelyn Bass

      Mrs. Evelyn Bass went to be with the Lord on Saturday morning, April 1, 2023. Born in Shelby, NC on May 20, 1934, she resided in West Columbia for most of her life. Evelyn worked at Stone Manufacturing Company for many years.
      She is survived by her daughter, Joyce (Mike) Yarbrough, six grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was predeceased in death by her husband, Donnie Bass and her sons, Charles McAbee, Timmy McAbee and James McAbee, and her grandson Chris McKinney.
      Evelyn loved to worship the Lord and cook delicious meals for friends and family. She was a longtime and faithful member of West Columbia First Church of the Nazarene where she served as Toddler teacher for many years. Evelyn's joy came from helping others and being very generous to those in need. She will be missed by all.
      A memorial service for Mrs. Evelyn Bass will be held at West Columbia First Church of the Nazarene, 350 Wattling Rd, on Thursday at 1 PM. Family will receive friends at Thompson Funeral Home on Augusta Highway from 5-6 PM on Wednesday. Interment will be at Celestial Memorial Gardens following the service.
