Thomas Bass, 81, a longtime rural Fairland resident passed away at his home on Monday, July 20, 2020. Tom was born on July 4, 1939 in Treece, Kanas to Claude Edward and Racine (Shaw) Bass. Mr. Bass worked at B.F. Goodrich for many years in the Farm Services, but his passion was Horse Racing. He trained Race Horses for many many years. When you walked into his home that is what would likely be on his TV. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Elks Lodge in Miami. Mr. Bass was preceded in passing by his parents, his wife Shirlye Jean (Glasgow) Bass, his sons Jeffery Scott Bass and Russ Edward Bass.
Survivors include his brother K.C. Bass and his wife Shirley of Miami, Michael Bass and his wife Joyce of Picher, along with his many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be 12:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Miami.
Graveside Services are 10:00 AM on day, July 23, 2020 at Fairland Cemetery with Reverend Bock White Officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairland Cemetery under the care of Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Miami.
Casketbearers will be Justin Berry, Sam Hoover, Dakota Schick, Gentry Stelle, Roman Bass and Jacob Bass.
Honorary Casketbearers are Christopher Bass, Nick Forrest and Paul Hoover.
