Patricia E. Bassett
Patricia E. Bassett passed away comfortably and with dignity after a long battle with cancer. She was 88 years old.
Born in Coshocton, Ohio, on Sept. 29, 1937, Patricia was the daughter of Clyde and Thelma Fitch.
She has two sisters: Barbara Offutt (Frank Offutt, David and Rebecca) and Judy Foster (Jerry F??oster, Joey and Dean) and two brothers, Jerry Fitch (Shirley Fitch, Mia Ann) and Thomas Fitch (RIP) (Virginia Fitch, Hattie Ann, Charlie and Eddie).
Patricia (Fitch) was married to David B. Bassett, (Chicago fireman) for almost 60 years and has three children, Dianna Collier (Ricky Collier), Micheal Bassett (Tracy Bassett) and Mark Bassett (Karen Bassett). She has five grandchildren: Micholas Bassett, Taylor Rose Bassett, Haskell "Bo" Lee (Felicia Williams), Robert Lee (Shelby) and Nikki Lee (Brian Malin) and many great-grandchildren including Kymberlee Malin, Raylan Malin, Kaine Lee, Melody Lee, Lexie and Hunter Lee, Kammie Williams and Tanya Lee.
Patricia was born and raised in Coshocton, Ohio, then moved to Chicago, Illinois, to marry her husband, David Bassett (U.S. Navy) and raise their three children. Patricia and David then retired to Mountain Home, Arkansas, to enjoy the beautiful mountains for over 20 years.
Patricia enjoyed bowling with her friends, Sandy Foltman, Faye Willer and Sheila O'Brien. She was a firm believer in the Lord and taught Sunday School and was an active member in the PTA helping children with disabilities at Haugan Elementary. She enjoyed helping others through many lodges including the Moose and American Legion.
Patricia was loved by all who knew her as she welcomed all in her home and never turned away a child in need and enhanced the lives of all who were fortunate to know her.
A Graveside Service for Patricia will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, 2026, at Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Gassville, Arkansas.
