A viewing will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, at Davis Funeral Home. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6, at Mountain View Cemetery.
Beverly Ann Bass was born Feb. 5, 1943, in Valley Station, Ky., the daughter of Eunice (Payton) Logsdon and Delbert Logsdon.
In August 1960 she married Jimmie Bass in Miami, Fla., and they had four children.
Over the course of 25 years they moved from Miami, Fla., to Smithfield, N.C., Moore, Okla., and Riverton.
In Riverton, she worked as a waitress at Al's Gaslight and the Sundowner and as a service desk manager at Kmart. She then enrolled in the nursing program at Central Wyoming College.
Afterward, she worked briefly at Riverton Memorial Hospital before deciding to become a travel nurse, eventually working in Nashville, Tenn., until her medical retirement in June 2000.
She lived briefly in California with her daughter Patsy until 2002 when they returned to Riverton.
They said her family and friends were the most important in her life, and she was a selfless person who always saw the best in everyone. Her family said she loved to talk to people and people loved to talk to her. They said her greatest gift to her loved ones was her spontaneity -- she always was ready to go somewhere and do something. Her family said she enjoyed reading, traveling, listening to bluegrass music and playing blackjack. They said she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her children, Susan Rucker (Randy), Patricia Bass, Cheryl Bass of Riverton and Jimmy Bass (Sherri) of Casper; grandchildren Jason Bass (Amanda) and Melissa Rucker of Riverton, Troy Bass (Kristen) and Brian Bass (Amethyst) of Casper and Amy Barton (Rusty) of Albuquerque, N.M.; great-grandchildren Lucas Bass of Casper and Aiden Boyle and Liam Barton of Albuquerque, N.M.; and sister Sharon Howard in Louisville, Ky.
