  Notes	Monticello News, Arkansas, August, 15, 2019 Willie Chester Bassett Willie Chester Bassett, 84, of Little Rock died Thursday, August 8, 2019 at his home. He was born January 9, 1935 in Drew County to the late Chester Bassett and Verline Phillips Bassett. He served 30 years in the U.S. Navy, receiving numerous awards and medals before his retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Willie B.; five sisters, Mary, Edna, Georgia, Joyce and Linda; and four brothers, Milton, Robert, Calvin and LeVester. Survivors include two sons, Ronnie Bassett of Houston and Bruce (Minossa) Richard of Kingston, N.Y.; one sister, Verlester Meads of Little Rock; and one brother, Cornelius Roy (Debra) Bassett of Monticello. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 15, 2019 at Stephenson-Dearman Chapel with burial to follow in Oakland Cemetery with military honors. Visitation is from 6-7 p.m. Wednesday, August 14 evening at the funeral home.
