Among the most prominent Physicians and Surgeons of Vandalia of late years may be mentioned Dr. Francis B. Haller, Dr. Thos. Wilkins, Dr. Thomas G. Hickman, Dr. George W. Bassett, and Dr. Rollin E. Beach, who was without a doubt the most eminent surgeon Vandalia ever had, havng a world-wide reputation and he was a contributor to the best medical journals of the United States and Europe.
