  Notes	Augusta Chronicle, April 19, 1957 Mrs. Susan Bassett Special to the Chronicle HILLTONIA, Ga. – Mrs. Susan Bassett, 79, of Hilltonia, died at her home Thursday morning following a long illness. A member of the Antioch Christian Church, she was born in Screven County on May 17, 1877. Survivors includes three sons, Tom Bassett, Joe Bassett, and John Bassett, all of Sylvania; three daughters, Mrs. Y.C. Bragg of Savannah and Mrs. Ira Waters and Miss Vernon Bassett, both of Sylvania; three step-daughters, Mrs. Lelia Taylor, Mrs. Alice Bragg, both of Sylvania, and Mrs. Lillian Hughes of Elijay; one stepson, M.L. Bassett of Millen; two sisters, Mrs. Allen Walters and Mrs. Ola Waters, both of New York; five half-sisters, Mrs. B.L. Waters, Mrs. B.A. Boyd and Mrs. Eustis Jenkins, all of Sylvania, Mrs. Hines Reddick of Hilltonia, and Mrs. Lovett Murray of Sardis; 18 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 4 p.m. at the Antioch Christian Church. The Rev. Grady Hargroves will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Mills Daughtry, J.P. Taylor, Robert Taylor, Henry Bassett, Brantley Bragg and Earl Hughes. Honorary pallbearers will be A.A. Waters, E.M. Staley, Lovett Bazemore, Talmadge Roberts, Sid Sharpe, Otis Taylor, Bill Doyle, R.B. Bobannon, John Boyd, Albert Lariscy, C.A. Ward, and E.H. Thompson. Funeral arrangements to be handled by Thompson Funeral Home.
