LIMESTONE - Mrs. Elizabeth "Lizzie" Bassett, 100, wife of thelate Leroy Bassett, died Feb. 21, 2000, at a Caribou health-care facility aftera brief illness. SHe was born Aug. 20, 1899, in Limestone, the daughter ofEdward and Hattie (*Willey) Bolstridge. She attended Limestone schools,graduating in 1919. She married Leroy Bassett in 1920. She was a life longresident of Limestone, where she was a homemaker and operated and antique shopat the corner of the Access highway and Cote Road, from 1960 to 1992. Sheenjoyed antiques, gardening, and spending time with her friends and family, andwas a member of the Limestone Methodist Church. Mrs. Bassett was predeceased byher husband in 1953; her brother, Tom Bolstridge; and three sisters, BerthaKilcollins, Sara Libby and Bessie Roberts. She is survived by her daughter andson-in-law, Joan and Roy Robbins of New Hartford, Conn.; two granddaughters,Brenda and husband, Eric Wood of Weston, Mass., and Sheila Robbins ofFramingham, Mass., three great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildrenand several nieces and nephews. At the family's request, there will be noservices at this time. Graveside services will be conducted at Advent Cemetery,Limestone, later in the spring. Relatives and friends who choose, maycontribute in Mrs. Bassett's memory to a charity of one's choice. Arrangementsentrusted to Dorsey Funeral Home, Fort Fairfield.
