Emily Fairchild Fordham, daughter of John Stuart and Emma Woodhull (Raynor) Fordham, was born 21 Nov 1840 in Sag Harbor, Suffolk County, New York. She died 27 Feb 1914. She married Edward L. Keese on 16 May 1863. John Stuart Fordham, son of James and Prudence (Stuart) Fordham, was born 30 Dec 1797. He died 13 Sep 1880 in Fordham, New York. Keese passed away in North Attleboro, Mass., on November 5th after an illness of one and a half years. ******* Newspaper Obituary : November 1953 Mrs. Mary B. Keese passed away in North Attleboro, Mass., on November 5th after an illness of one and a half years. Mrs. Keese, a resident of North Attleboro for the past eight years spent most of her life in Sag Harbor. The daughter of the late Joseph and Martha A. Gans Bassett, she was born in Sagaponack on July 24, 1863. Her husband, John S. Keese predeceased her in 1948. Survivors are two daughters; Mrs. Emily Stafford, Sag Harbor, Mrs. Mildred W. Brown, North Attleboro, Mass.; one son J. Dudley Keese, Boston, Mass.; one brother, William Bassett, East Hampton; also grandchildren and great grandchildren. A book, Wits Wisdom, in memory of Mrs. Keese with a special memorial book plate given by Mr. and Mrs. George A. Johnson will be placed in the Richards Memorial Library in North Attleboro, Mass. Mrs. Keese was also a member of the Presbyterian Church, Sag Harbor. Funeral services were held on Saturday, November 7th at 2:30 p.m. from the Yardley Funeral Home with Rev. G. Robert Wirth officiating. Interment followed in Oakland Cemetery.
