Cenia Deloris Cormany Bass
Cenia Deloris Cormany Bass, 78, of New Castle died Saturday February 21, 2004 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Bass was born August 28, 1925 in Wythe County. She was the daughter of the late Earl Cormany, Sr. and Frances Kincer Cormany. Mrs. Bass was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 38 years, James R. Bass, four sisters and two brothers. Mrs. Bass is survived by her daughter Melody Lynn Bass Austin and husband, Jerry of New Castle; one son, William L. Pafford of New Castle; three granddaughters, Terry Maxwell and husband Joe of Chesapeake, Lisa Racel and husband Marc of Roanoke, and Chance Dakota Bass of New Castle; four great grandchildren; Emily Maxwell, Joseph Maxwell, Blaine Racel and Victor Racel. Numerous nieces and nephews; and very special people in her life Anna Gray of Roanoke, Marta Bostic of New Castle, Betty Adkins of Huntington, WV and Sandra Midkiff Johnson of Huntington, WV. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Monday February 23, 2004 at Rosewood Memorial Gardens, Rural Retreat. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Paitsel Funeral Home, New Castle.
