Itan Maurice Bass
BASS, Itan Maurice departed this life Wednesday, June 25, 2014 in Essex Nursing Home. He was born May 1, 1936 in Springfield, Ohio the son of Gorman and Hazel (Johns) Bass. Mr. Bass was a Carpenter eleven years and owner of Itan Bass Cement Contractor for over thirty-three years. He is survived by his wife of fifty-nine years, Sondra (Brown) Bass, his Daughters, Tanya (Ronald) Carr, Denise (Gurley) Ramey, sons, Andre Bass of Springfield, Ohio, Darryl Bass of Denver, Colorado nine, Grandchildren and twenty Great Grandchildren. Four sisters, Wilma Jean Morgan of California , Marilyn (Maxwell) Gardner of Springfield, Ohio, Norma Lee Williams of Denver, Colorado, Bernadine (Richard) Greene of Englewood, Ohio and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Wilda Bass, Eunice Keller, Marcelene Hinton, two brothers Marcellus Bass and Rendal (Rennie) Bass one granddaughter, Tiffany R. Bass and special nephew Norman (Bud) Bass, Sr. Special thanks to Doctor Narcelles and Doctor Kurian and Essex Nursing Home. Service for Itan Bass will be held Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at Porter-Qualls-Dunlap Funeral Home, 823 South Yellow Springs Street, Springfield, Ohio. Visitation will be 11:00 AM with family present at 12 noon until time of service which will be at 1:00 PM with Dr. Oliver Gill and Dr. Nathan Higgins officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Porter-Qualls-Dunlap Funeral Home.
