Malcum ?Wayne? Bass

Malcum "Wayne" Bass took Jesus by the hand January 18, 2019 at Liberty Community Living Center.
Mr. Bass was born October 11, 1940 in Amite County to the late J. C. Bass and Doris Long Bass. He was a retail salesman and owner/operator of Bass Grocery and Bass Sausage Company for many years. Wayne was an ordained deacon at Tangipahoa Baptist Church and was active with the youth ministry and started the Senior meetings and luncheon. The family moved and became members of West McComb Baptist Church.
Mr. Bass was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Winton Bass and in- laws, J.R Greer, Edna Greer and brother in-law, Buck Greer.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Doris "Dobbie" Bass, daughter, Julie Bass and a son Kyle Bass (Susan), 2 granddaughters Lindsey Bass of Eagle River Alaska , and Briana Bass of Mobile, AL.
Visitation will be Monday, January 21, from 10 AM till 2 PM at Hartman Jones Funeral Home. Services will be at 2 PM Monday at the funeral home chapel with Rev Vann Windom officiating. Interment will follow in the Whittington Cemetery.
The family would like to thank all the staff of Liberty Community Living Center and Compassus Hospice for their wonderful care and thoughtfulness.
Pallbearers will be Marty Wroten, Chad Smith, Jerry Bates Sr., Sammy Quin, Rick McElveen and Michael Freeman.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Brian McGrath, Calvin Munts, John Paul Carruth and J. R. Erwin.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to West McComb Baptist Church Building Fund.
