- Mamie Gantt Bass Obituary
At the home of her mother, Mrs. Janie Gantt, at Wallsboro, Mrs. Mamie Gantt Bass, wife of Private Chester Bass, now with the American Expeditionary Forces in France, died of influenza on Sunday night. She was twenty-five years of age and was born and reared in Elmore County. She has a wide family connection and many friends who deeply regret to learn of her death. She is a cousin of Mrs. C.C. Pickard of Wetumpka.
The remains were laid to reset on Monday at Buyck.
The deceased leaves a husband; one little son; her mother; there sisters, Mrs. Rolph Harmon of Wetumpka, Misses Birdie and Lois Gantt, of Wallsboro, three brothers Gervus and Ira Gantt of Pensacola and Luncey Gantt of Wallsboro.
