  Notes	Texas Obituaries Merriman Claude Bass Jan. 7, 1912 ? March 3, 2002 Graveside services for Merriman Claude Bass, 90, of Houston are set for 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Bryan City Cemetery. The Rev. Billy Johnson will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday at Hillier Funeral Home in Bryan. Mr. Bass died Sunday in Houston. He was born in Bartlesville, Okla., and was retired as senior oil scheduler for Shell Oil Company. He was a member of the College Avenue Baptist Church in Bryan. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps and as a PFC in the 8th Air Force and was a member of the American Legion. Survivors include his wife, Mamie Lee Bass of Houston; two sons and daughters-in-law, Howard and Betty Bass and Johnny Lee and Margie Bass, all of Houston; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Norma and James Mintz and Bonnie Bass, all of Houston, Marian and George ?Skip? Leibensperger of Plano and Deborah and the Rev. Billy Johnson of Belton, Texas; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
