Narda Parette Bass McCrae
Narda Parette Bass McCrae was born in Ahoskie, North Carolina on December 17, 1963 to Cyrus L. Bass and Patricia C. Bass.
Narda moved to Portsmouth, Virginia at an early age. She graduated from Manor High School in 1982 and attended Virginia State University. She worked with her father in the paint industry for many years before growing her own family.
Narda worked for FedEx Ground for 19 years before retiring in June 2020. She was also an avid member of Mount Lebanon Missionary Baptist Church ?The Mount? in Chesapeake, Virginia, where she served as a greeter.
Narda transitioned on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth. She was preceded in death by her father, Cyrus.
Narda is survived by her mother, Patricia C. Bass, daughter Alexis McCrae of Portsmouth, Virginia, and son Darien McCrae, of Virginia Beach, Virginia; two great-aunts Myrtle Clark of Ahoskie, North Carolina, and Martha Cherry of New York, New York; four aunts Virginia Pruden of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, Martha Clarke of Woodstock, Georgia, Sherol Kaye Bass of Ahoskie, North Carolina, and Phyllis Clarke of Upper Marlboro, Maryland; five uncles Ronald Clarke (Bob) of Palm Springs, California, Lowell Clarke of New York, New York, Orris Clarke of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, Logan Bass of Raleigh, North Carolina, and Elton Jordan of Colerain, North Carolina; and a host of godchildren, cousins, and friends.
