Miss Rebeth Mae Young is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin C. Young of Angier, who announce her engagement to Bobby Sherrill Bass, son of Mr. and Mrs. A.L. Bass of Clinton. A September wedding is planned.

Rebeth Bass
CLINTON ? Mrs. Rebeth Mae Young Bass, 85, of 2734 Basstown Road, passed away Monday, July 17, 2023, at Duke University Medical Center in Durham.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 21, at 11 a.m. at Brown Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Ray Jernigan officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park.
Born in 1938 in Harnett County, Rebeth was the daughter of the late Marvin Clarence and Nelia Byrd Young. She was a former employee with Clinton Medical Clinic and Sampson Regional Medical Center. She was a member of Brown Baptist Church and the widow of Bobby Sherrill Bass.
She is survived by her son, Sherrill Ray Bass of Clinton; sister, Nancy Cottrill of West Virginia; brother, Cecil Ray Young of Angier; and two granddaughters, Amber Beth Bass and Kamdyn Taylor Bass.
In addition to her husband, Rebeth was preceded in death by her son, Ronald Keith Bass; two sisters, Marcia Matthews and Jean Grady; and three brothers, Marvin Clarence Young, Jr., Edmond Hinton Young, and Joseph Allen Young.
The family will receive friends on Friday one hour prior to the service beginning at 10 a.m. at the church and other times at her home.
