Diane Susan Bass
Diane Susan (Belovic) Bass, 72, of Indianapolis passed away on January 10, 2023. She leaves behind the love of her life John Mark Bass who she was married to for 49 years. Diane was born in Cleveland, OH on November 29, 1950 to Alice (Naymick) and George Belovic. Diane attended Brecksville High School in Ohio, then after moving to Indiana graduated from Greenwood High School in 1969. She earned a B.S. Business Degree from Kelley School of Business in 1973 at Indiana University, Bloomington, IN. Diane had a love of nature, hiking, biking, and adventure. She worked for the Ohio State Department of Natural Resources while living in Columbus, OH and was a leader of a Girl Scout troop that she led on woodland adventures in the Indy area. As an ardent traveler she explored Europe, hiked the Grand Canyon, rafted the Merced River in Yosemite, snowmobiled in the Grand Tetons, camped in Sequoia National Park, biked through England's Cotswolds, and basked in the Hawaiian Islands. She deeply appreciated her home and loved cooking, reading, and quiet walks with her beloved dog. She was fiercely devoted to her extended family and cherished the years she helped care for her three nieces and nephews while their parents worked. She was beloved for her candid honesty and kind heart.
Diane was preceded in death by her father George Belovic. She is survived by her husband, John Bass; her mother Alice Belovic; sisters Lynn Casperson and Christie Menze; brothers Michael Belovic and Gregory Belovic; nieces Natalie Camin, Anna Gridley; nephews Nicholas Camin, George Menze, Alex Menze, Michael Belovic, Jr., and Nicholas Belovic.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 13 at 11:00 AM with visitation from 10:00 AM until time of service at St. George Orthodox Christian Church, 10748 E 116th St., Fishers, IN 46037. In lieu of Flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the Humane Society of Marion County: Indy Humane 7929 N. Michigan Road, Indianapolis, IN 46268 Indyhumane.org. Final arrangements entrusted to Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory-Greenwood Chapel.
