  Notes	The Virginian-Pilot, Norfolk, Virginia, 28 January 1998 Edna Earle Bass Edna Earle Bass, 85, of the 1400 block of Ardmore Circle, died Jan. 27, 1998. Born in Hertford, N.C., she was the widow of James Ray Bass. Mrs. Bass retired as a school guard for the Chesapeake School System and was a member of Centerville Baptist Church of Chesapeake. Survivors include two daughters, Harriett B. Martin of Norfolk, Patricia B. Jones of Chesapeake; a son, James M. Bass of North Augusta, S.C.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel, by the Rev. Evelyn Puckett. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday and at the residence at all other times.
