An Evening Wedding
Mr. L. Frank Bass and Miss Lizzie Malbone were united in the holy bonds of wedlock by Rev. H.E. Johnson, D.D., at the Cumberland Street M.E. parsonage on Charlotte street at 9 o?clock last night. The beautiful and impressive ceremony was witnessed by only the immediate relatives of the contracting parties.
The bride was costumed in white organdie trimmed in real lace, and wore diamond ornaments. She carried Bride roses. The groom wore conventional black. There were no attendants. The marriage over, the happy couple, accompanied by their relatives, were drive to the beautiful home of Mr. and Mrs. George T. Whitehurst, No. 413 Duncan avenue, Ghent, where an elegant reception was tendered them. After spending several hours in social converse the bride and groom and guests were ushered into the dining room, where they feasted on the choicest luxuries.
The bride is the daughter of the late Mr. Wm. H. Malbone, of Norfolk. She is a lady of grace, culture and rare beauty. The groom is a native of Florence, S.C., but has been a resident of Norfolk for some time. He is a gentleman of commanding appearance and is connected with one of the largest business firms in the city.
Mr. and Mrs. Bass will reside in their own new home, No. 404 South Park avenue, Brambleton.
