Born in Dartmouth, Halifax County, N.S., she came to Manitoba 38 years ago. Mrs. Bassett was the originator and past noble of the Mayflower Ruth Lodge I.O.O.F. Manchseter. She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. D. Taylor, Winnipeg; her stepmother, Mrs. Elizabeth Preeper; two brothers, William and Robert Preeper, both of Detroit; three sisters, Mrs. R. Richmond, Mrs. J. Block and Mrs. L.H. Angell, all of Detroit; four grandchildren; a great grandchild. Funeral service will be held at 1.30 p.m. Monday in the Clark Leaterhdale Funeral Home, Canon F. Hughes officiating. Burial will take place in Elmwood Cemetery.
