      Margaret died unexpectedly at home from complications due to diabetes in Wilmington, N.C. shortly following the death of her husband and sweetheart, Steven Craig Bass. She leaves her family behind in Raleigh, N.C.; her mother, Elizabeth T. Shoulars, sisters, Anne T. Shoulars, Alison Shoulars Warren (Glenn) and brother H. Wilson Shoulars,III (Laurie). She had three loving nieces Mary Beth Warren, Wrenn Brotzman (Gabe), Rebecca Neil (Paul), great niece Scottie Warren and a nephew Hank Warren (Sarah). She was predeceased by her father Dr H.Wilson Shoulars, Jr, sister Beth Shoulars, and husband Steven Craig Bass.

      Margaret grew up in Raleigh where she had many friends. She graduated from Broughton High School where she played on the Volleyball Team, in the Marching Band, and in the Orchestra. She graduated from UNC Wilmington with a Communications degree. She enjoyed living and working in Wilmington where she made many close friends.

      Margaret loved spending time with her family and especially looked forward to spending annual beach trips in Hatteras Village of the Outer Banks. She enjoyed boating, fishing, and being on the water. She was a lifelong Tarheel fan cheering on Carolina Basketball and Football teams at the games or from her "lucky chair".

      During a recent trip to Lake Gaston, she shared a special devotional time wth her family that had a lasting impact on her life.

      Margaret loved her dogs, her "furbabies", Mattie, Max, and Molly and raised her dogs from puppies. They are missing ther "mom" and two are seeking a new home.

      The Service will be held Saturday, August 20th 12:00 noon at Hampstead United Methodist Church in Hampstead, N.C. Vistation is at 11:00 am.

      In lieu of flowers, we request donations be made to the American Diabetes Association, your local SPCA, the Humane Society or a charity of your choice.

      The family would like to thank Steve's family and her dearest friends for their ongoing love and support during this sad time.

      We will miss Margaret's loving smile and beautiful spirit.
