      Sadie Elnora (Nogie) Storie Bass
      January 15, 1931 ? April 8, 2026

Sadie Elnora (Nogie) Storie Bass, 95, passed peacefully on April 8, 2026 into the arms of her Lord and Savior. Born January 15, 1931, in Houston, Texas, to parents William Theodore and Sadie Elnora Storie, she carried her family?s love and strength with her throughout a long, remarkable life. After the family moved to Pasadena, Texas, she built a life that was as adventurous as it was beautiful one defined by devotion, creativity, and the kind of spirited joy that leaves a lasting glow.
Nogie met the love of her life Edward Emory Bass and together they shared 69 years of marriage, raising three children and creating a home filled with love, purpose and possibility. In 1956, she and Edward started Bass and Meineke Auto Parts, and also were the owners of Kirby Marina dating back to the 1980?s. Their life together was richly lived: they loved deep sea fishing and hunting and traveled to many places throughout their life. She and Edward shared many fond memories with family and friends at their lake house arrowhead hunting and fishing, always choosing curiosity, water, and wide horizons whenever they could.
A talented, artistic soul, Nogie expressed herself through painting and metal sculpting, and she brought music into the world by playing the banjo, performing in the Jubilee & Bayou Banjo bands in Houston. She had a way of turning everyday moments into something memorable, leaving behind not only treasured works of art and song, but also the steady reminder that life is meant to be enjoyed, explored, and celebrated.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Theodore and Sadie Elnora Storie; her beloved husband, Edward Bass; son, Lonnie Bass; granddaughter, April Bass; brother, Ted Storie, Jr.; and her sister, Juanita Dorflinger.
She is survived by her son, Cary and his wife, Fran; daughter, Dede Wright; grandchildren, Brandon, Joshua, Ariel, Colton, Londa, Summer and Jessica; 15 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Betty Strawther, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Her family was her pride and her joy, and her legacy lives on in every generation that carries her stories forward.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with a graveside service following on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at 11:00 am. All services will be held at Forest Park East Funeral Home and Cemetery, located at 21620 Gulf Freeway in Webster, Texas.
Nogie?s life was celebratory and uplifting in the truest sense, filled with love, adventure, creativity, and deep family roots. Though she will be dearly missed, the light of her spirit remains, reflected in the lives she shaped and the joy she so generously shared.
