Sylvia L. Bassett
Sylvia L. Bassett, 71, of Johnson Road died Monday in Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. She was the wife of Alton M. Bassett.
Born in Denver, Colo., she was the daughter of the late John and Minnie Taskinen.
Mrs. Bassett was a member of the Moosup Vally Congregational Church. She was active in local community affairs.
Besides her husband she leaves two daughters, Mrs. Sonja E. Murray and Virginia L. Bassett, both of Foster; a brother, Onni Taskinen of Foster; and two grandchildren.
The funeral will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. in the Frank R. Gorton and Sons Funeral Home, 721 Washington St., Coventry. Burial will be in the Rathbun Cemetery, Coventry.
