Anna M. Bassett, 71, of Chicopee, passed away Sat., April 8, 2017 surrounded by family and friends. Anna was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Stella Veratti. She retired in 2014 after working many years proudly raising her children and caring for the mentally handicapped. Anna enjoyed working in her yard, traveling and loved going to the beach. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and members of the Sociable Singles group. Anna leaves her loving children; Joseph and his wife Donna of Warren, Cheryl and her wife Amy of Alexandria, VA., Pamela and her boyfriend Steven of Agawam, and Jason and his wife Angela of Glen Allen, VA. She also leaves 5 grandchildren; Brianna, Cameron, Caroline, Kaitlyn Ann, and Travis and his fiance Kaitlyn. Anna also leaves her brother Robert Veratti and his wife Linda of Spfld and two nieces, Debbie and Denise. A Memorial Mass will be held WED 11 AM in the Holy Spirit Chapel at St. Michael?s Cathedral, 254 State St., Spfld. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. There are NO Calling Hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 or to Human Resources Unlimited, 120 Maple St., Suite 400, Spfld, MA 01103.
