The death, from bronchitis, of Mrs. Climena Salley occurred Saturday afternoon at her home in Douglass. Mrs. Salley was born in Summerset, Maine, February 21, 1821, and in 1842 was married to Daniel Salley, with whom she came to Olmsted county in 1855. Her husband died about 7 years ago, and their eight children have all married. All but one of the children were present at the time of her death. The deceased had been an active member of the Methodist church for forty years and was an upright and earnest woman, much loved by her children and respected by a large circle of friends. The funeral which was held at her late home Sunday afternoon, was conducted by Rev. Nathan Wood of Byron.

A PIONEER Passed Away at Douglass Saturday Afternoon
The Angel of Death came to Mrs. Climena Salley of Douglass, Saturday afternoon at one o'clock, after she had been sick for four weeks with bronchitis.
Mrs. Salley, nee Miss Climena Witham, was born in Somerset county, Maine, 76 years ago the twenty-second day of last February. In 1842 she was married to Mr. Daniel Salley, and shortly after they moved to Wisconsin, to what was then Dodge Center.
They lived there for nine years and in 1855 she with her husband moved to Douglass, where they resided until seven years ago when Mr. Salley passed from earth. She had, however, continued her residence there to the time of her death, more than forty years.
Eight children survive the parents, seven of whom were present at the time of her death. Three sons?Joel of Ellsworth, Wis.; Warren of Arlington, S. Dak.; E. W. Salley who lives on the farm at Douglass; five daughters ?Mrs. Hester Bassett, Mrs. Kate Langworthy, Mrs. Ella Oliphant of Faribault county; Mrs. Effie Hall of Arlington, S. Dak. And Mrs Lenora Hall of Kenosha, Wis.
Mrs. Salley was well known at Douglass, where she resided so many years and her friends were many.
The funeral occurred Sunday afternoon at three o'clock, from her late home, Rev. Nathan Wood, of Byron, officiating. The remains were consigned to their last resting place, attended by the sorrow of many friends, in Center Grove cemetery at Douglass.

Another Old Resident Passes Away
Death of Mrs. Climena Sally
At her home in Douglass, Saturday afternoon at one o'clock, Mrs. Climena Sally, quietly passed away after an illness covering a period of some four weeks. For sometime Mrs. Sally had suffered from bronchitis, to which trouble, together with old age, her death is attributed.
The deceased was born in Summerset county in the State of Maine, Feb'y 21, 1821, and on Feb'y 22, 1842, married to Daniel Sally of the same place. In 1846 they moved west, settling in Doge county, Wisconsin. Here they resided until they removed to Olmsted county in 1855 and located on a farm near Douglass. On this farm Mr. Sally's death occurred some seven years ago, and his wife continued to make that her home until her death a period of more than 40 year's residence on the same farm.
Eight children, three sons and five daughters, all married, survive their mother and were all present at her death except one. The children are, Mrs. H. A. Bassett, Mrs. E. F. Langworth and Mrs. C. M. Oliphant, of Faribault county; Mrs. E. A. Hall, Kenosha, Wis.; Mrs. E. Hall, Arlington S. D. Joel Sally, Ellsworth, Wis.; Warren Sally, Arlington, S. D. and E. W. Sally, of Douglass.
Mrs. Sally was a consistent member of the Methodist church for the past forty years, highly regarded for her Christian character, and as a mother loved and respected by her children and a large circle of friends and acquaintances.
The funeral services were held at the house Sunday afternoon at three o'clock, the services being conducted by Rev. N. Wood of Byron. The remains were laid to rest in Center Grove cemetery near Douglass.
