Iris Bass of Albion dies after accident ~ Mrs. Iris Bass, 59 of Albion, passed away at 4:30 a.m. today at the Richland Memorial Hospital from injuries received in a car accident at the north edge of Albion at approximately 9 p.m. last night on Route 130 near the State Police Subdistrict police headquarters at Albion.
Mrs. Bass is believed to have suffered a cerebral hemorrage while driving her auto and lost control of her auto, which struck a utility pole in Albion.
Gene Copeland of Albion saw the car hit the utility pole and immediately ran to her assistance and called the state police.
She was rushed to the Richland Memorial Hospital and passed away a few hours afterward.
Mrs. Bass was an art instructor and was engaged in teaching art classes at Albion and West Salem for the Evening Division of Olney Central College.
She has no immediate survivors and was the widow of the late George Bass, former Olney and Albion pharmacist. She is a sister-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Bass of Olney. She was also related to the Aaron Zimmerly family of Olney.
