Section 1 - Welcome
I am always looking for new material to include in the Bassett family newsletter.
If you have an old picture, old document or other item of interest to share,
please let me know and we can possibly include it in a future newsletter.
Results for one DNA test came back this month and they are included below.
There are still 9 outstanding DNA tests. If you have one of these tests,
please consider sending it in soon. Several of these tests are for families
not yet represented in the DNA study. A kit went out this month to a Bassett
family that immigrated from Switzerland to the United States in the 1800's.
I am very interested to see the results of this kit.

ANTIQUE SAMPLER~BASSETT~1868~CORNWALL
This is an antique sampler one of four that I am listing on E-bay this week. They
all come from one family who lived in Cornwall all in the St.Enoder area.
This sampler is very similar to another one I have on E-bay – this measures
11 ½ inches by 17 inches in length. The canvas it has been embroidered
on is a light beige and is quite a course material.
She has done the work in tiny cross stitch and has embroidered the alphabet slightly
different in that she has repeated each letter i.e. AABBCCDDetc. And she has
done her numbers up to the number26.
It was worked by:-
PHILLIPPA JANE BASSETT
GOENROUNSEN ST.ENODER.
AGED 10 YEARS FEBY.1ST.1868.
